The Chief Education Officer (CEO) Ganderbal Nahida Neelofer has banned the use of phones in classrooms by the teachers, an order issued here said.


The order read, “It has come to the notice of the undersigned (CEO Ganderbal ) that most of the teachers are using mobile phones in their classes during teaching time which hampers the academic process. In order to stop this practice and to make the teachers accountable , it is enjoined upon all the principals, zonal education officers and headmasters that all the teachers should handover their mobile phones to them before entering the class. If any teacher is found violating this order a strict action will be initiated against the teacher and head of the institution as well".


Neelofer told Jk News that the step was taken on the directions of director school education Kashmir and its objective was to ensure a discipline in the classrooms.
